UV/IR Market Overview

  • UVC:
    Leds in the range of 265/275/280/285 nm become more and more popular and are understrong development. Today these leds reach up to 5,3% efficiency but the key leds companies believe in a strong improvement till 2026 with values above 10% and a lifetime of 20 khours with an UV loss of about 20-30%.
  • UVB:
    Leds exist in the wavelength range of 308-310 nm and around 340 nm but efficiency is still poor well below UVC Leds.
  • UVA:
    Leds have reached already a very high development level with very high outputs, decreasing prices and lifetimes > 50 khours. Wavelengths from 365/375/385/405 to 415 nm are available, where Leds at 365 nm reach efficiencies >60%, the wavelengths above this are on the way to >65%.
  • VIS:
    Owning an own luminaire company Kandem, one of the oldest brands in the market, DR. FISCHER has available several unique solutions from low to high power for sports lighting.
  • IRA/NIR:
    IR Leds start at 810 nm reaching highest power and high effiencies from 850 to 920/940 nm where they reach very high effiencies up to 61% and outputs of up to 2,4 W per led. Followed by high efficient led wavelengths of 1050/1100 and slowly decreasing efficiencies and output to higher wavelengths 1150/1200/1300/1350/1450/1550/1650/1750 to 1900 nm.

DR. FISCHER has realized several projects from hand curing equipment for automotive paint repair, high power curing of low migration inks in label printing, lab stations and several meter long UV channels for the polymerisation of adhesives to special leds/luminaires to grow plants and grass in stadiums.

Our Capabilities to realize the wohle range from

  • Design of customized led boards with very high uniformity, wavelength mix, very high output with metallic led boards with raytracing and thermal simulations
  • Design of the necessary cooling bodies from air, to forced air and water cooling with thermal simulation tools to decide early on the necessary cooling technology and a final safe design
  • Development of drivers or pick worldwide the best and most reliable solutions
  • Development and production of electrical cabinets to support, protect and control the drivers in CE and UL execution
  • Development of the necessary programming from lab solutions till the software integration into a production machine via Profibus, Profinet, etc.
